Our client is an exciting renewable energy company who, due to exciting growth, are seeking a Senior Corporate/Energy Lawyer for an initial 12 month contract.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 - 10 years post admission experience. Ideally, you will have exposure to energy and renewable energy transactions.
Other requirements include:
- Leadership skills;
- Enthusiastic, positive attitude, willingness to learn and someone who is resilient;
- Excellent communication skills and experience managing stakeholders; and
- Top tier/mid-tier law firm experience.
Responsibilities:
As a senior legal counsel you will report into the General Counsel and provide leadership to junior members within the team. The team collaborates in the navigating of the complex environment, ensuring they provide practical and well considered advice to the business.
- Providing strategic advice to all business areas with a particular focus on renewable energy and infrastructure projects;
- Negotiating the terms and conditions of various contracts which may include EPC/O&M, land, grid connection, Power Purchase Agreements, renewable energy off-take agreements, sales/purchase, finance or any other relevant documentation;
- Advising the internal Contracts Administrator and Construction/Asset Manager on contractual analysis;
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies;
- Identifying legal risks and develop effective strategies and solutions;
- Drafting, amending and advising on a variety of legal documents; and
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This includes managing external legal providers.
