Are you a business oriented lawyer with a passion for combining legal, risk and markets business topics? We are seeking a talented professional to join our team as a Senior Legal Documentation Specialist. In this role you will not only negotiate local and international master agreements with focus on OTC-derivatives, repurchase and securities lending transactions, but advice on be-spoken financial markets transactions as well as regulatory and legal developments in your area of responsibility.
You will play a pivotal role in aligning business needs with those of other internal stakeholders such as risk management, back office or compliance and represent our group towards clients, other market participants but also local and international markets associations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in law and 5 or more years work experience as in-house lawyer or within a law firm with focus on financial markets issues and experience in negotiating master agreements covering OTC-derivative, repurchase and securities lending transactions
  • Knowledge and understanding of the legal and regulatory framework relevant for financial and capital markets; awareness of current trends in the capital markets’ law and regulations
  • Strong work ethics, team spirit and communication skills are essential
  • Business fluency in German and English; additional CEE language of one of Erste Group’s core markets of advantage
  • Good command of Microsoft Word and Excel; additional IT knowledge of advantage
  • Professional experience in banking, regulatory affairs or relevant supplementary qualification is of advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and negotiating local and international agreements for financial markets transactions (such as OTC-derivative, repurchase, securities lending and money market transactions), including related collateral and other security agreements
  • Giving legal advice to business units and other internal stakeholders on risk reduction measures and regulatory capital relief opportunities as well as regulatory requirements in respect of financial markets transactions
  • Mandating external law firms and coordinating vis-à-vis central legal functions
  • Monitoring, analyzing and reviewing of netting and collateral legal opinions as well as coordinating mandates with external law firms
  • Representing Erste Group Bank AG in business negotiations with local and international clients and other market participants
  • Monitoring impact of regulatory reforms on master agreements and the covered transactions and implementing the required changes
