Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering the ILS is primarily responsible for working with customers to provide technical data packages to support various contracts. This role is based in-office, on-site at our Bedford, NS location. The successful candidate will work with engineering to support obsolescence management and ensure that our information remains up to date.

Responsibilities:

AS THE ILS, YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

  • Ensure compliance with all project logistics requirements
  • Ability to work with and on occasion lead a team of engineers and technicians to complete a project or projects
  • Participates in preparing proposal inputs concerning ILS, product support and reliability areas
  • Finalizes and/or generates requested task/man-hour estimates for review and approval
  • Coordinates logistics support program activities in the areas of spares, technical data, field and in-house modification programs where requested
  • Analyzes engineering change documentation to determine applicability and scope of effort on logistics support activities.
  • Work with customers to provide technical data packages to support various contracts (including MTBF calculations, part life cycle management and test data records)
  • Work with engineering to support obsolescence management
  • Provides regular status and progress reporting to management
  • Completion of assigned tasks on time and within technical requirements
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings as required
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization

WHAT YOU REQUIRE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE:

  • University degree or technical qualification, preferably in some branch of Engineering
  • 5 years minimum ILS experience
  • Experience in developing ILS and LSA plans
  • Prepare and enter data for, and support various military contracts
  • Conduct reliability analysis and prepare reports using parts count and parts stress methods
  • Prepare training material for all levels of maintenance and operator training
  • Prepare source data for technical publications
  • Prepare RSPLs and support equipment lists
  • Conduct FMECA analyses and prepare reports
  • Support bid and proposal by preparation of technical input and estimates for ILS
  • Good problem-solving skills are key to make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions
  • Effective technical report writing skills to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data for varied audiences
  • Punctuality and attendance are considered essential functions of this position

  • Highly effective customer service skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and meet work schedules
  • Ability to manage multiple technical assignments
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Update existing or prepare new procedures to document processes
  • Excellent computer skills using MS Word, MS Excel as a minimum
  • Knowledge of DND LCMM and Supply Support processes would be an asset
  • Some knowledge or familiarity with the creation and maintenance of technical manuals would be an asset
