Description:

JOIN ATOMI: INNOVATE, EMPOWER AND INSPIRE IN THE EDTECH WORLD.

Our mission is to help unlock the world’s potential by optimising the way we teach and learn. With a unique blend of technology and creativity, we bring learning to life, making complex concepts simple and accessible to students, educators, and parents alike.
We’re a team driven by our core values: a deep-rooted passion for learning, a relentless pursuit of quality at speed, humility in our growth, a commitment to pushing boundaries, empowering others fearlessly and championing the needs of our customers. Our culture is built on these values, ensuring we stay agile, innovative and empathetic to the evolving needs of the education community.
At Atomi, you’ll be encouraged to think creatively, work collaboratively and contribute to a mission where every piece of work is a step towards realising our collective potential in classrooms and beyond.
The opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our innovative AI/ML team to take on the challenge of improving student outcomes and empowering teachers with creative AI features. Our team is at the forefront of AI features like instant marking and personalised feedback within interactive assessments, currently used in over 700 high schools across Australia and beyond.
In this role, you’ll lead our efforts to advance our AI marking system while ensuring it continues to increase in capability and accuracy and operate reliably and safely to support our ambitious production and business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • You’ll lead efforts to optimise our AI Marking system, expanding its capabilities to a wider range of more complex assessment and question types.
  • You’ll design, develop, and deploy new machine learning solutions to improve how we mark and deliver personalised feedback to a growing number of users.
  • Day-to-day you’ll with data scientists to experiment with the latest techniques in NLP and AI and maximise the accuracy and robustness of the system.
  • You’ll help refine our sophisticated data strategies, including active learning pipelines, to enhance machine learning effectiveness.
  • You’ll leverage (and improve) existing monitoring processes to identify performance, scalability and reliability opportunities. Champion best practices in deployment and maintenance, ensuring our AI solutions are effective, resilient, and cost-efficient.
  • You’ll collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, domain experts and product managers to integrate AI solutions seamlessly, as well as to identify business and growth opportunities.
  • You’ll stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in AI and machine learning, particularly in the context of educational technology, to drive innovation within our products.
