Description:
VES is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with an active security clearance to join our exciting team. The role will combine deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a strong commitment to security and compliance standards. This is an opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects in a secure and dynamic environment.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who has specialized expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Transformers, and Large Language Models (LLMs). This role involves developing advanced NLP solutions using Transformer architectures and LLMs. This person will also lead data science projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the latest NLP technologies and a proven track record of implementing complex machine learning systems in a secure setting. The candidate should have the ability to collaborate with academic and research institutions to leverage the latest findings in the field.
The anticipated work location is in the Arlington, VA or Dahlgren, VA (we anticipate a position in each location).
Travel: Infrequent 10%
Required Experience
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields
- 7+ years of experience in machine learning or data science, with a focus on NLP, Transformers, and LLMs
- Strong programming skills, especially in Python, and experience with relevant NL libraries and frameworks
- Ability to handle complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams and guiding complex projects to success.
Clearance: SECRET
Desired Experience
Published research or significant contributions in the field of NLP, Transformers, or LLMs
- Experience in handling large-scale, classified datasets in a secure environment
- Continuous engagement in the ML community
