We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the support and maintenance of a large, complex, and business-critical mainframe application for one of our premier accounts. You will play a crucial role in providing analysis and resolution of complex issues requiring enhancement to primarily COBOL application code, batch processes, and interfaces.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical expertise in COBOL, CICS, IBM mainframes, and JCL.
  • Proven ability to provide proactive recommendations for improving environment and interface stability and performance.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, along with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Exceptional stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Apply consistently high-quality and security standards to all work undertaken.
  • Banking Mortgages experience will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with Assembler and Pacbase is also favourably regarded.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide top-level support for our Client’s Mainframe Applications, ensuring an uninterrupted operation.
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues requiring enhancement to application code, batch processes, and interfaces.
  • Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver projects to the business.
  • Contribute to a portfolio of development and enhancement activity, as well as ongoing maintenance and support.
