The Sr. Maintenance Mechanic assists in leading the production and maintenance teams on programs to ensure the plant’s equipment and supports the growth of Greenhouse. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced industrial millwright who can provide technical expertise, and contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of our operations.
This is a full-time position based out of our Mississauga location within a rapidly growing start-up. This is a cool job, literally—please note that you will be working in refrigerated conditions for juice production.
The Sr. Maintenance Mechanic will be on afternoon shifts with no weekends. The hours will rotate morning, afternoon, and evening with occasional weekends. Times and shifts are subject to change depending on the production schedule.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Previous experience in a maintenance mechanic role
  • 5-7+ years working as a Industrial Mechanic Millwright ideally in a food and beverage environment
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
  • Scissor lift license is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Results-orientated with the ability to adapt to changing production demands

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and participate in the day-to-day troubleshooting & maintenance of equipment
  • Assist and maintain the preventative maintenance program
  • Work with Maintenance Manager to train, direct, provide coaching and support to skilled staff (maintenance technicians and operators)
  • Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance, improve efficiency, and implement process improvements.
  • Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
  • Fulfill mechanical requirements of work orders and troubleshooting and repairs
  • Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts
  • Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
  • Sharpening, organizing, labeling and cleaning maintenance area and tools
  • Conduct safety audits in plant and warehouses
  • Troubleshoot any equipment breakdowns or urgent maintenance issues in a timely manner
