Description:
SENIOR ACCOUNTING AND TAX MANAGER
To manage and coordinate the corporate accounting and taxation functions to ensure accurate and timely reporting in addition to ensuring compliance with internal and external timelines for all statutory and tax reporting. The position is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of accounting data and its timely flow for input to the centralised accounting system. Furthermore, the position is to provide leadership and training to the DP World Australia accounting team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare, reconcile and consolidate monthly BAS returns (GST, Fuel Excise, FBT, etc) for group companies to ensure timely returns to ATO.
- Preparation of the group annual FBT returns
- Preparation of year end tax and audit schedules
- Manage the preparation and consolidation of statutory accounts to ensure they are lodged with ASIC to meet reporting deadlines.
- Preparing individual tax returns for each entity and the consolidated tax return for all entities in Australia
- Liaising with external tax advisors on compliance tasks and ad hoc / project-based requirements
- Assist with preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecastsManage, coach and develop staff to ensure competency and appropriate succession within Department and for Finance function as a whole
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Accounting related Degree and Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, CA)
- Strong experience in accountant role for a multi-national organisation preferred
- Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred
- At least 7-10 years post qualification experience
- Must have previous leadership experience
- Expert knowledge of financial accounting, auditing, taxation, regulatory and legal requirements
- Must be able to work within constant and demanding time frames
- Proven high ethics and ability to work with highly confidential informationExperience with year-end account preparation essential
