Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Business Development to join our dynamic team. As the Senior Manager of Business Development and Strategy, you will have the unique opportunity to develop and implement our M&A strategy, identify key opportunities, and lead initiatives to enhance business growth. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Business Development and Strategy and work closely with internal teams and external partners to make informed strategic choices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience in strategy, business development, or related roles within Diagnostics, Medical Devices or Life Sciences.
- Demonstrated history of creating and implementing successful M&A strategies that contribute to business expansion.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence partners at all levels.
- Strategic problem solver that can anticipate market trends and identify growth opportunities.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and refinement of the divisional M&A strategy, including target screening, assessment, and presentation preparation for divisional and group leadership.
- Coordinate the annual STRAP Strategic Process in collaboration with key partners to align strategic goals and priorities.
- Drive initiatives to accelerate business growth through financial and strategic analyses to evaluate new business models and opportunities.
- Provide support for division-wide strategic decisions by leading projects and offering insights.
- Conduct market positioning analysis by tracking the external environment and competitor activities.
- Establish target screening criteria aligned with the ImmunoDiagnostics business strategy.
- Implement Business Development opportunities in line with agreed business priorities.
- Monitor acquisition and licensing trends in the IVD market and provide insights to the organization.
- Build strong relationships with potential target and partner companies, using the influence of our brand.
- Negotiate term sheets and contracts for royalties, licenses, and partnerships.
- Assess patents, technologies, and new business opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
- Propose and negotiate licensing and partnership models for new technologies and assays.
- Participate in cross-divisional and divisional leadership meetings to facilitate strategic discussions and decision-making.
