Description:

THE POSITION

The Senior Buying Manager will report into the Buying Director and will be responsible for Men’s business. Main responsibilities includee building, developing and managing best-in-class product strategies, business processes and merchandising organization that lead to the successful and sustainable development of the Calvin Klein in the EU Region. We are looking for a very experienced individual who puts emphasis on quality and both details and big picture, who can timely turn information into insights, has an eye for product and driven by change. The ability to develop key cross-functional relationships is critical to accomplishing team goals. This role requires first in class interpersonal and people manegement skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop European merchandise plan by understanding future trends, analyzing current business and collecting feedback from directly operated Stores, Brand Partners and countries
  • In partnership with Global & European Product Teams, identify potential gaps in the line plan, make recommendations for improving the assortment for the market.
  • Responsible for end to end buying activities for each of the area of responsibility, from following up with prompt and relevant feedback during Collection development, to market preparation and execution and post-market reconciliation, sales analysis and feedback gathering
  • Create Aligned assortments in collaboration with Ecom to drive DTC business and Consumer messaging.
  • Review seasonal assortments (collections) relative to the merchandise plan and ensure they can meet company targets.
  • Keep relevant departments & affiliated offices informed of key global product initiatives. Liaise with involved parties to ensure those initiatives are launched according to agreed plan.
  • Collaborate with Merchandise Planning to monitor yearly and seasonal budgets and inventory plan by country.
  • Responsible for preparing market presentations with line and product direction, style assortments and pricing.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance & inventory levels by market.
  • Provides core and seasonal product knowledge support to Stores to drive sales and service and generate excitement within our retail channels.
  • Communicates closely with other stakeholders to continually understand buying trends, developments amongst competitors, consumer insights, etc.
  • Lead team members in all cross functions toward business and profitability objectives; monitor progress against objectives and define strategies to correct problems as they arise.
  • Lead and communicate effectively with a team of Retail Merchandisers/Buyers at varying levels, responsible for team building, coaching, and training.
  • Build a high performing team through development of talent; create individual and team goals based on performance metrics; monitor performance and give clear and frequent feedback.
  • Anticipate and plan for future business/organizational needs.
  • Play a leading role in Calvin Klein Men’s area of the business, take ownership and proud of product, processes, relationships and results
