POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager Capital Projects within the Facility & Engineering department (F&E) will be responsible for leading the site capital project processes including the site project budget preparation, cost control and project execution plans to ensure the approach to project selection through to realization meets with business needs for our new cell therapy facility.
The role includes managing a diverse portfolio of capital projects, such as equipment, productivity, and capacity upgrades, facility renovations, and infrastructure upgrades to support the commercial manufacturing of a cell therapy products. The individual will have frequent exposure to senior management as they coordinate projects that shape the strategy vision of our Cell Therapy Facility. In this role, you will also supervise some projects yourself as a (sr.) project manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site responsibility for co-ordination of all Capital and Expense project selection, justification and delivery using and assist the site in prioritizing projects in alignment with business needs.
  • Directing and monitoring project cost determination and overseeing the preparation and management of Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR).
  • Pursuing and implementing novel project solutions, new technologies and methodologies with operational SMEs to meet business needs.
  • Ensuring with support from F&E SME’s that all the proposed Project Management, Design and construction processes are in compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Ensure Delivery of CAPEX and Expense Project Portfolio
  • Ensuring the Portfolio Leads and Project team have the right competency mix to deliver a complex and changing project portfolio, including selection and management of a contingent work force.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.S Degree in Engineering, Science or IT related discipline is preferred

Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in relevant project management experience
  • Experience in GMP environment and a proven track record of delivering projects in pharmaceutical / biotechnology manufacturing settings (nice to have)
  • Experience using Project Controls and Management tools to track relevant metrics and KPI’s to successfully delivering of projects
  • Project Management Professional certification is preferred
  • Experience leading a small team of professionals is preferred.
  • Experience using SAP and budgeting tools.
