YOUR SKILLS

  • Master’s degree in Controlling, Accounting, Procurement, Strategy, Climate Science
  • 10 years of relevant professional experience with focus on climate sustainability and project management
  • Knowledge in the following areas is desired: Climate SBTI or CDP, GHG accounting, Net Zero concept, CSRD & EU Taxonomy. Knowledge in Water or Biodiversity and water accounting principles (CEO Watermandate, WWF, WRI etc.) is a plus
  • Willingness to display a transformative approach, fostering a shift in organizational mindset towards strategically managing footprint data with the same adaptability and precision as standard financial metrics
  • Ability to translate complex climate topics into actionable insights for non-expert decision-makers such as R&D, Executive Committees, and Purchasers, through the creation of accessible briefing documents and internal guidelines, leveraging knowledge of decarbonization levers, sector trends, and technology landscape
  • Proficient in methodological thinking with a deep understanding of financial and environmental data reporting systems
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated resilience in handling high-pressure situations and adapting to rapidly changing environments
  • A strong multi-tasker-capable of planning, organizing details while communicating effectively on all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence within a multi-matrix organizational structure, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive initiatives forward
  • Business Proficiency in English, German is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relevant corporate Climate accounting and target policies, reflecting Henkel’s leadership ambitions and strategic business interests, in close cooperation with Data Team and BU’s to ensure coherent targets and implementation
  • Own documentation of policies and develops wide reaching communication and training materials to deepen climate awareness and understanding across the business
  • Orchestrate the internal Climate targets Governance and Steering; with the support of established roadmaps and action plans in interaction with relevant stakeholders
  • Establish existing and emerging reporting and accounting standards as well as key methodologies with respect to their impact on Henkel’s strategic targets
  • Liaise closely with the Reporting and Business Integration team to quantify business risks and value creation opportunities for Corporate Reporting and business integration
  • Engage in relevant external platforms to shape industry standards and methodologies and represents Henkels interests (in close collaboration with Data team and BU’s) in relevant collaborations and events
