The opportunity
An exciting new opportunity for a Senior Manager to join our Group Risk team, with a focus on Cyber Assurance. In this role you will perform assurance reviews, deep dives and provide thematic insights focused on improving QBE’s Cyber Security risk posture.
Leading assurance activities you will provide independent and objective assurance by reviewing the design and operating effectiveness of Key Cyber controls including the frameworks for managing cyber risk to ensure adequate mitigation of Cyber Risk.
Your new role
In this role you will influence the 1st Line and provide strategic thematic opinions and challenge on the management of Cyber Risk globally. This includes:

Strategic Cyber Risk Assurance

  • Develop and execute a forward-thinking cyber assurance strategy to pre-emptively assist in providing key control assurance and emerging risks.
  • Perform deep dives and thematic reviews related to key Cyber and Technology risk areas.
  • Assess and ensure the Cyber Risk Framework keeps pace with the emerging threat and rapidly changing regulatory landscape.
  • Provide advice and insights to the Head of Cyber Risk and Leadership Team on Cyber risk and decisions including Risk Treatment, Risk Appetite and Top Risks.
  • Assist in the development of appropriate Cyber risk scenarios.

Risk Advisory Review and Challenge

  • Contribute to the Group-level 2nd Line opinion on the management of operational risk subclasses (Cyber Security and including Cyber Transformation Program).
  • 2nd Line risk advisory to the Group Cyber Security function of Group Technology and Operations whilst ensuring the enterprise risk management requirements (I&I and RMSA) are fully embedded.
  • Lead the engagement with third party assurance resources to assist with the assurance reviews and deep dives where required.
  • Ensure QBE maintains adherence to key regulatory obligations e.g. CPS234, CPS230 and the Australian Privacy Principals.

Please note that for the successful candidate, this process will include a phone screen with our Talent Acquisition team, 2/3 interviews (either face to face or online via Teams) and background checks.

About you

  • Proven experience in Cyber Risk Management or a Cyber Security function within the Financial Services industry.
  • A background in assurance either through auditing or consulting to the Financial Services Industry.
  • Good knowledge of Cyber and Technology regulatory requirements within the Financial Services Industry.
  • Cyber or Risk management qualification desirable (e.g. CRISC, CISM, CISA etc).
  • Proven experience in leading assurance activities including thematic reviews, deep dives or audit engagements.
  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure
