KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 10+ years of software development experience using Object Oriented design for high-volume transactional and customer-facing web API using C# or Java / Spring and minimum 3 years of managerial experience required.
• 5+ years of mortgage domain experience required.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, design reviews, code reviews, TDD, unit testing, integration/system testing, monitoring, alerting, agile development practices
• Full-stack experience, knowledge of platform and application layer development processes in a Micro-service environment
• Deep understanding of industry standards and industry best practices for large, sophisticated platforms and services
• Experience with REST architectural patterns and experience building, exposing, consuming RESTful services.
• Extensive hands-on knowledge and experience with database design and management for PostgreSQL, SQL, Oracle, NoSQL
• Proven success in designing robust and scalable production systems.

JOB PURPOSE

ICE Mortgage Technology is the leading cloud-based lending platform provider for the US residential mortgage finance industry. ICE Mortgage Technologys solutions enable lenders to originate more loans, reduce origination costs, and reduce the time to close, all while ensuring the highest levels of compliance, quality, and efficiency.
We are looking for seasoned Senior Manager, Software Engineering with a solid background in Enterprise Software Development to lead and manage fast paced software development teams. As a member of this team, you will be working on developing cloud-based lending platform and services with the help of your team and managing them. You will have an opportunity to participate in designing and implementing existing and new products and you will work closely with product management as well as application development teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, mentor, and grow engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
• Plan technical roadmaps that align with the broader organization, and direct execution of them with reasonable assignment of tasks to the team.
• Provide supervision and development for the engineering team by selecting and training, assigning duties, building a team-based work environment, establishing performance expectations, conducting regular performance evaluations, providing recognition and rewards, coaching for success and improvement, and ensuring diversity awareness.
• Hire, evaluate and promote engineers to build a strong team. Participate in discovery processes collaborating with key stakeholders to identify business requirements and expected outcomes.
• Design and architect effective solutions to build, maintain, and improve multiple real-time decision systems.
• Define business-specific performance metrics to measure API usage, then monitor and improve metrics over time.
• Produces a well-thought-out architecture that can scale, performance, secure and high reliability.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver working solutions on time to customers.
• Able to influence and collaborate closely with groups within the product line.
• Maintain developer documentation for the new APIs to encourage adoption and best practices.
• Coach and direct staff towards career goals, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
• Engage hands-on in technical design discussions and advise/unblock developers when they hit roadblocks.
• Work closely together with product and program management, architects and QA including participating in project planning, grooming, scrum and demos.
• Work closely with Operations, SRE, and Technical Support with issue escalations.
• Report status on project deliverables to upper management and mitigate risks as they arise.
