Summary
As Senior Manager, Digital Insights, you will work with the AstraZeneca Corporate Communications team and Global Corporate Affairs (GCA) network and use internal and external audience and channel data, research and insights in support of high-quality digital communications and a differentiated, trusted corporate brand and reputation.
Working independently and under direction, you will lead the sourcing, processing and analysing of metrics from across our digital channels, identifying actionable insights to inform our overall digital strategy as well as campaign development, in-flight adjustment and post-campaign learnings.
You will work closely with stakeholders to educate and inform on best practice and provide access to data and insights to help them set objectives and KPIs best geared towards achieving their communications goals.
You will play a key role in developing and implementing GCA’s digital benchmarking and listening capabilities, ensuring we improve our understanding of our relative performance in digital communications and our ability to understand what is being said about us, by whom, enabling a rapid response where needed.
Working closely with colleagues from across corporate communications you will contribute to or produce actionable insight-driven reports on an ad hoc or regular basis across therapy and business areas and on a market, regional, or global level.
You will be a key member of the Centre of Digital Excellence, playing a role in shaping and advancing our digital strategy, innovating and deploying new approaches to ensure we remain at the forefront of digital within and beyond the industry. Cultural awareness and the ability to work with teams across corporate communications, including Brand and Reputation, Global Media Relations, Internal Communications and Strategy and Operations will be key.
You must be proactive and innovative. Alongside data and insights capability, experience in managing multiple projects, disciplined planning and multi-channel communications experience is essential. You will be expected to play an important role in fostering a positive culture as part of the broader Global Corporate Affairs team. Occasional working out of normal office hours may be required.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the sourcing, processing and analysing of metrics from across AstraZeneca corporate digital channels.
  • Identify actionable insights to inform both digital strategy and the development, in-flight adjustment and review of communication campaigns and activity driven from within or outside the Centre of Digital Excellence.
  • Educate and inform stakeholders on best practice, providing access to and supplying data and insights to support the setting of robust objectives and KPIs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of digital listening and benchmarking strategies, partnering with colleagues to ensure their integration into GCA’s risk management processes.
  • Produce or contribute to actionable insight-driven performance reports on an ad hoc or regular basis across therapy and business areas and on a market, regional, or global level.
  • Liaise with partners including in IT and the Digital Centre of Excellence’s Product team to support the management and development of tools and technology essential to the role.
  • Provide support as required across all areas of the CoDE’s operations, depending on demand.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, supporting a culture of continuous learning and improvement across the Centre of Digital Excellence and beyond.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent standard of written and spoken English
  • Minimum 5 years experience working on digital metrics, reporting capabilities and benchmarking in a global in-house or agency communications team is essential
  • Experience sourcing quantitative and qualitative data from a range of sources and identifying actionable insights for communications purposes is essential
  • Experience delivering high-quality, compelling reports summarising data and insights for stakeholders
  • Experience in social media / digital listening and the writing of Boolean queries
  • Confident using third-party tools and platforms, for example Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Adobe Analytics, or Google Analytics.
  • Experience in working with international teams or on projects with international dimensions, contributing to and prioritising multiple high-level projects across cultures and time zones
  • Experience of managing different stakeholder relationships, confident at managing up
  • Understanding of multi-channel, strategic digital campaigns and the role of setting objectives, target audiences, tactics and measurement
  • Some experience commissioning, creating or managing digital content and channels is desirable
  • Appreciation of the potential role of Artificial Intelligence in improving performance and driving efficiencies in the use of data and insights is desirable
  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry or other highly regulated sector is desirable
