Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Manager of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to lead our efforts in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of our organization. Reporting directly to the Director of DEI & Employee Experience, the Senior Manager of DEI will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic initiatives that foster a culture of belonging and ensure equal opportunities for all employees.
Working together with leaders across the organization including the Manager of Indigenous Relations, Human Resources Business Partners, and Employee Resource Groups (“ERGs”), you will bring DEI efforts to the top of mind with respect to talent attraction, acquisition, employee engagement and development. Additionally, you will partner with Talent Management to create and implement practical and sustainable processes to drive DEI priorities.
As a key member of a data-driven organization, track and measure diversity analytics that leverage best practices and research. You will also leverage data insights to update and iterate existing programs and policies based on their effectiveness. You will track and report on DEI related costs and track the return on investment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Implement and evolve the existing DEI strategy aligned with AIMCo’s values, goals, and business objectives.
  • Identify and manage DEI objectives and priorities across AIMCo that contribute to continuing to enhance our commitment to DEI
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate DEI principles into all aspects of the organization’s policies, practices, and processes.
  • Conduct assessments and analyze data to identify gaps and opportunities for improving diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
  • Collaborate with HR, recruitment, and hiring managers to develop inclusive hiring practices and ensure diverse candidate pipelines.
  • Provide guidance and support to employee resource groups (ERGs) and other affinity groups to promote an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
  • Serve as a resource and advisor to employees and managers on DEI-related issues, concerns, and best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of DEI initiatives and recommend adjustments as needed to drive continuous improvement and engagement
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and legal requirements related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, or a related field (Master’s degree would be an asset).
  • Certifications related to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion would be considered an asset, including CCIP, Intercultural Development Inventory, and University DEI certifications
  • Experience supporting Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) certification would be an asset
  • Demonstrated track record developing DEI corporate strategies and actionable objectives and plans
  • Deep understanding of DEI principles, concepts, and best practices, with a track record of successfully implementing DEI initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable and willing to challenge the status quo with tact and sensitivity
  • Able to embrace empathy for lived experiences and corresponding emotions that come from being an underrepresented group
