Description:
The Sr. Manager European Medical Affairs Oncology will develop and implement the European Medical Affairs strategy and tactics for one or more assets in Thoracic Oncology. He/she will be the regional area expert for internal and external stakeholders.
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Life science (ideally at least master level, Ph.D. desirable) or medical degree ideally with relevant specialist experience in Oncology
- At least 5 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry
- Clinical or Industry experience in Lung and Thoracic cavity cancers and their treatment desirable
- Good knowledge of the European Healthcare systems and drug law
- Experience in HTA dossier preparations is a plus
- Proactive, integrative and conceptual personality with leadership skills
- Result oriented and customer focused with the ability to work in a matrix organization and manage interfaces to different stakeholders (internal & external)
- Team player, open-minded, highly motivated
- Strategic mind-set
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in English - fluent English in written and spoken
- Technical expertise in MS Office
Responsibilities:
- Develops and ensures the appropriate implementation of the European Medical Affairs strategy for one or more assets in close collaboration with key stakeholders (Market Access, R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, MSLs, etc.)
- Provides support to country Medical Affairs teams in establishing local strategic and tactical plans
- Maintains an active network of key opinion leaders and oncologist HCPs, Payers, Policy makers and PAGs with specific focus on one or more assets
- Collaborates closely with Global Medical Affairs teams and ensures insights from local markets are captured and communicated
- Provides strategic input and supports execution of brand plans at global and regional level
- Works closely with and influences clinical development on all aspects, including study design, initiation, and monitoring of clinical studies, phase II-phase IV
- Interacts with experts at medical meetings, advisory boards, etc. to represent Daiichi Sankyo and strengthen its reputation in Oncology
- Maintains a strong external orientation by participating actively in external Oncology events and activities
- Responsible Medical point of contact for EUHTA dossier preparation (e.g. disease area, compound, clinical rationale, etc.) and external stakeholder engagement
- Leads the cross functional European Medical Team for one or more assets with key representatives from European Affiliates
- Responsible for timely execution of the European Medical Affairs plan within budget
- Cross-functionally delivers a real world evidence and publication plan to support overall product life cycle management and business strategy
