Description:

Datadog is seeking a Senior Manager for the Public Sector Field Marketing team to be based in DC reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Field Marketing. You will play a pivotal role as a player-coach, overseeing two US-based field marketers—one focused on Federal (FED) and the other on State, Local, and Education (SLED). Your leadership skills and extensive experience in public sector field marketing will lead Datadog’s expansion in this rapidly growing segment. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in strategic field marketing, a passion for technology, and a dedication to exceeding goals—setting new standards of excellence within the field marketing domain.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Datadog’s products, market position, personas, competition, and market trends.
  • You understand the sales cycle and know what data points you need to guide your team to deliver the right leads at the right time.
  • Sales, operations, and adjacent marketing teams will be your key allies. You will partner closely with the Sr. Director of Global Field Marketing and segment specific sales leadership to develop and execute strategic marketing plans tailored to the public sector.
  • Data analysis, forecasting, workflows, and enablement plans are your foundation. Act as the main point of contact and enablement for the public sector sales team, ensuring effective communication of marketing plans and performance. Regularly presenting metrics in QSRs, Global Field MKT QBRs, regional all hands, and leadership meetings.
  • Utilize third-party organizations, media outlets, agencies, and partners to create demand and generate leads across various channels.
  • Optimize the field channel mix to respond to changes in the market and evaluate program success for future planning and effective budget management.
  • Forge strong alliances with the partner and sponsored event marketing teams, integrating their events seamlessly into the overall field marketing strategy to maximize ROI on current marketing expenditures.
  • Proactively collaborate with various GTM teams to plan and execute larger portions of owned (DASH, Datadog Summit, and Datadog Live) and sponsored partner events (i.e. Reinvent & AWS).
  • Partner with Datadog’s experienced recruitment and HR team to recruit, hire and onboard new team members.
  • Lead and inspire a team of field marketers, providing effective management, motivation, and guidance to support their career development and ensure the achievement of performance metrics.

Who You Are:

  • Solution-oriented, highly motivated and proactive self-starter who works well as both team manager and individual strategic contributor.
  • Stellar communication and relationship building skills that help you connect with a range of people, from entry-level employees to the C-suite.
  • Apply a growth mindset towards our business, function and your development.
  • Thrive on data and engage with systems to collect, analyze and share data relative to your programs for pipeline planning.
  • 8+ years of relevant field marketing experience in B2B SaaS marketing to the enterprise.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Experience with CRM (Salesforce), Demandbase, Google Suite, project management and sales enablement workflows.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That’s okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
