POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager will report directly to the Michigan Medicaid Market CFO and have oversight to the monthly financial reporting, annual budgeting, and quarterly forecasting, including presenting to the Executive Team.
Finance liaison in relation to medical cost initiatives, special projects, encounter dashboard and state finance department. Finance representative on several workgroups and meetings for the Plan. In addition, this individual is responsible for the timely completion of all state and external audits as well as preparing and coordinating the completion of a variety of external state reporting requirements
Responsibilities
1. Oversight of monthly financial reporting including preparation of month-end result reporting and variance analysis
2. Lead the coordination and development of the health plan financial planning and forecasting process.
3. Responsible for providing financial support to ensure the timely completion of any state or external audit
4. Coordinate the preparation and completion of a variety of complex state/regulatory reporting requirements.
5. Identify, implement, monitor, and track effective medical cost analysis through coordination with medical directors, network management, underwriting, etc.
6. Partner with other financial disciplines, e.g., actuarial, underwriting, to assure pricing, product, and risk alignment with business unit financial performance targets.
7. Lead financial analysis and recommendations in support of management’s evaluation of strategic and business initiatives.
8. Serve as team lead providing guidance and training to less experienced staff members.
This role will function as the Senior Manager for the local market and will help the respective market’s ability to achieve its financial and strategic goals by identifying business actions and financial goals across the market and the enterprise.
You will lead the financial reporting and audit processes for the local market, leverage prior experience to ensure the quality and integrity of P&L/cost center owner level reporting, and collaborate with constituent areas including Actuarial, Quality, Network and Medical Economics to execute on priorities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

7+ years of financial planning experience
3+ years of experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated initiative and perseverance
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science with a strong financial background.

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree required or equivalent years of related experience.
