Description:

LOCATION: DUBAI, UAE

The incumbent is responsible for supporting the Head of Internal Audit / Portfolio Head / Job-in-Charge in providing internal audit services across the Group with a specialization in Corporate banking reviews, evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of Credit policies, and procedures, reviewing credit files and ensuring compliance to policies, procedures, underwriting standards (both regular and restructured portfolios), credit administration and ongoing monitoring across wholesale / business banking portfolio.
The applicant is also expected to lead reviews in units under the wholesale banking group including the Financial Institutions Unit, Transactions banking, Investment Banking, Stock Brokerage unit, and Credit Administration and Risk department reviews. The applicant will provide independent audit assurance on the Bank’s compliance with CBUAE’s Credit Risk Management Standards. As a Senior Manager, he/she will play a critical role in enhancing audit methodologies and procedures to better address credit risk and related regulatory matters.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Banking/Financial services industry audit experience (10 years and above) in the areas of Corporate Banking with a specialization in Credit risk-related areas and credit review and credit administration, investment banking, brokerage, and overall banking operations.
  • Additional experience in areas such as Treasury and Finance.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in risk-related areas and regulatory requirements.
  • Good team player.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address corporate banking/credit risk-related audit issues.
  • A commitment to stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices for areas relating to credit risk / corporate banking business.

EDUCATION:

  • A graduate degree.
  • Recognized Professional Accounting Qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA or International Equivalent).
  • Certified Internal Auditor.
  • Financial Risk Manager / Certified Financial Analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Lead and execute reviews of the restructured and renegotiated portfolio Review adequacy of provisions in accordance with IFRS 9 for Stage 3 accounts. Lead and manage as Job in Charge, credit reviews, risk ratings, and risk assessments to validate compliance with the Bank’s Credit policies and procedures and underwriting standards and align with requirements of Central Bank of UAE Credit Risk Management Standards.
  • Financials: Deliver cost-effective service to the group. Develop and deliver an audit service focused on control environment improvements that protect/enhance the group’s financial position.
  • Customer - Service: Conduct audits that are perceived to add value to the business. Ensure Internal Audit is contemporary and innovative to drive efficiency/quality of service. Maintain professional working relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Internal: Enhance the Quality Assurance process over audit files. Increase the efficiency of the audit process. All audit findings are to be measurable by efficiency or opportunity cost impact and take into consideration regulatory and internal control compliance. Drive efficiency and improve cost position.
