Senior Manager, IT Business Applications Europe

Reporting to the Director of IT Business Applications, the Senior Manager IT Business Applications Europe, is responsible for the strategic planning, organization, and implementation, and continuous improvement of information technology (IT) business applications services and support across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. This includes leading major projects such as upgrading/migrating ERPs, QMSs or any system that supports business operations.
The Senior Manager, IT Business Applications Europe is responsible for the company’s entire Business Application management lifecycle. This includes identifying, selecting, and deploying the appropriate technology and talent resources to ensure ongoing technical sustainment, training, and enhancement of all business applications to meet SLA metrics and senior management performance criteria. The Senior Manager, IT Business Applications Europe ensures compliance with best practice IT framework – developing and implementing policies, procedures, and documentation that are consistent with company enterprise goals, SOX and government/regulatory requirements, and GxP quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or an acceptable combination of education and experience
• 7+ years of progressive IT management experience, with a deep understanding of enterprise applications (ERPs, QMS, etc.)
• Experience implementing/administrating/upgrading ERP systems
• Experience in Microsoft Navision/Business Central is a plus
• Experience working in a multicultural environment and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully develop technology solutions, services, and policies across multiple sites
• Advanced analytical skills, and knowledge of project delivery framework, application development, and/or program management experience
• Proven ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization and to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals including technical experts, consultants, and external partners in order to achieve excellence in IT governance and operations
• An influential leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, in conjunction with sound judgment, staff management and teambuilding skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts and theories to non-technical audiences, effective written and verbal communication skills, with high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
• Ability to travel up to 2 weeks/month to sites across the EU (Portugal, Germany, Italy)
• Exhibit excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment
• Experience working within regulatory frameworks: SOX, GMP Computer Systems Validation, etc. would be an asset
• Fluent in English and German (mandatory)

• Work with management teams across Europe to identify potential projects, prioritize them amongst other projects, and plan resources to complete the projects.
• Propose plans/timelines for maintaining system compliance for vendor support, GxP standards, and SOX compliance.
• Lead business application team members, keeping them focused on the priority of tasks, building up their skillsets, and keeping them engaged with the business
• Managing a small development group. Utilizing their skillsets to maintain internal applications and leverage their capacity to reduce vendor spend on application changes.
• Highest point of escalation for IT business application outages, requiring near-immediate response towards expedient remediation, communication, and subsequent post-mortem
• Implement corporate policies, strategies, and initiatives that guide the planning, integration, deployment, operation, enhancement, and support of Tilray’s business applications
• Govern, monitor, and report on local site adherence to corporate standards and controls, in continuous feedback loop delivering increasing centralized enterprise value.
• Oversees strategic initiatives, committees, and projects that advance the Tilray business agenda across the enterprise
• Provide solution plans for various IT-related problems on the short, medium, and long-term
• Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make cost-effective recommendations for the improvement of IT systems to senior management
• Builds, develops, and manages the enterprises technology services organization, consisting of direct reports and indirect reports; including the hiring, training, staff development, performance management and conducting annual performance reviews
• Establish and maintain processes and procedures for managing ongoing requests and services, systems development and project management activities to ensure a timely response with a high level of service
• Research, design, and implement the appropriate technologies to support and improve corporate communications, access to information, and end-user productivity
• Build relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective acquisition of technology purchases; oversee service level agreement escalation and contract negotiations
