JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Our Global Investments and Financial Services (GIFS) UK team is hiring a Senior Manager IT Delivery to manage a team of technical staff who design, develop, test, implement and monitor investment systems software and tools.
The GIFS team is an IT division is a truly global organization supporting investment teams comprised of portfolio managers, traders, and other operation functions. GIFS IT supports multiple investment sites across the Australia, here in the United Kingdom, and the United States.
You will own the implementation of divisional products, as well as the evaluation and selection of IT vendor products. This position will give the candidate an opportunity to partner with leaders to strategize and effectively shape IT demand that will deliver business impact.
The person we are looking for will need strong investment savvy and investment data knowledge as this person will focus on the index modernization and ESG program. You will also support the critical investment data platform for front office functionality.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS THAT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT BUT ARE NOT ESSENTIAL:

Responsibilities:

As a Senior IT Delivery Manager, you will:

  • Lead staff, including managers. Develop, mentor, and provide guidance, training and motivation as vital. Conduct regular one on one and staff meetings.
  • Hire, evaluate and counsel crew.
  • Follow corporate disciplinary procedures per established Vanguard standards as the need arises.
  • Set performance standards, review performance, provide feedback, and recommend wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for delivering software releases relating to the investment product for the business units, leading the testing, evaluation, and selection of IT vendor products. Work with business clients to settle scope and develop environmental requirements for each project.
  • Work closely with management to develop and implement staffing and operational plans. Effectively bring to bear various staffing options and run a global workforce. Participate in the development of short and long term department goals. Supervise and report on service delivery metrics and overall performance.
  • Develop and implement changes to department policies and procedures to meet changing business needs and to achieve department objectives. Find opportunities for continuous improvement and evaluate and recommend appropriate strategies and technologies for building products and delivering services.
  • Lead quality initiatives to improve the delivery of service levels. Work with senior management in the planning, development, and execution of short and long term goals.
  • Present status, metrics, and department initiatives at meetings with management and project peers. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to provide long-term collaboration and deliver successful business outcomes.
  • Participate in the development of the department budget. Review expenses and ensure department operates within budgetary guidelines. Own the strategy and execution to build, buy, and integrate business technology solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Investment Management business functions. Combine technical and functional knowledge to produce highly functional solutions to Investment Management business problems.
  • Ensure staff aligns with information technology and information security policies and procedures and verify that deliverables meet requirements.
