REQUIREMENTS
• • A minimum of 11 years’ relevant professional experience in education project management at the international level and a proven track record of launching and developing new academic and/or professional education programmes;
- Proven high-level experience in business development and/or programme establishment;
- Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team environment with sound experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders that include government, NGOs, and the private sector;
- Proven advisory and analytical skills, including strong organisational coordination, problem-solving and facilitation, and time management;
- Experience in environmental conservation in the areas of capacity building and/or knowledge management would be an asset.
Responsibilities:
o Strategy and Representation
- Represent and promote the IUCN Academy and its activities to Governments, donors and partners, as well as other interested stakeholders, including intergovernmental agencies, non-governmental organisations, civil society and the private sector.
- Establish and maintain institutional relations with key collaborating partners.
- In collaboration with the Head of KMLLS Unit, lead the development and implementation of an innovative robust and reliable business model to support the growth of the IUCN Academy activities and its revenue.
- Identify strategic project ideas and fundraising opportunities that align with IUCN priorities, programmatic objectives and institutional mandate.
o Technical support to IUCN Centres and Regional Offices and development of the Academy portfolio
- Provide intellectual direction on the development of the services offered by the Academy to Centres and Regional Offices.
- Promote the integration and use of quality assurance processes and Academy tools in the IUCN Secretariat project portfolio.
- Provide guidance and expertise in pedagogical engineering and techno-pedagogy to IUCN Centres and Regional Offices.
- Drive the development and growth of the Academy portfolio, and design training programmes and learning journeys for a broad variety of stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver information and exchange best practices with IUCN staff on adult learning and relevant teaching methods and skills.
- Actively monitor developments in the field of andragogy and techno-pedagogy, with a view to make proposals for innovation.
o Operational Oversight
- Oversee the preparation, implementation, evaluation and reporting of the overall activities of the IUCN Academy.
- Manage the IUCN Academy budgeting process, proposing key investments and ensuring the Academy’s overall financial sustainability and growth.
- Supervise assigned staff, and cultivate and develop a dynamic, effective and committed team of professionals while addressing workforce diversity, equity and equality.
- Foster the behaviours and values that prioritise the delivery of high quality, team-based results across the Academy, ensuring that staff understand how their work, role and responsibilities fit into the strategic objectives of the IUCN Academy.
