POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Manager of Learning & Development will play a crucial role in supporting a team of learning partners who support retail, store support, and distribution centres and their training and learning functions. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of employees within these areas. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify training needs, develop effective learning strategies, and ensure the successful execution of enterprise-wide learning initiatives. This position reports to the Director, Learning & Development, Retail, Store Support and DCs.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Collaborate with learning partners to identify training needs and develop learning objectives aligned with business goals and strategies.
  • Design and implement comprehensive learning and development programs for retail, store support, and supply chain functions, utilizing various instructional methods and technologies.
  • Develop and deliver engaging training materials, including instructor-led training, e-learning modules, job aids, and other resources.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and support to learning partners in the development and execution of their training plans, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in learning and development, and proactively recommend innovative approaches to enhance employee development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external vendors to leverage expertise and resources for learning initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage the learning and development budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to communicate, negotiate, influence, and build collaborative relationships at all levels of the business
  • Ability to adapt positively to a changing environment and handle shifting priorities
  • Experience running multiple concurrent projects/programs
  • Experience managing the work of others
  • Strong communication, coaching, project management, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Financial competence and experience managing costs/budgets would be an asset

EXPERIENCE:

7-10 years’ experience crafting, developing, and implementing learner-centric solutions to address knowledge, and/or skill

EDUCATION:

Post secondary education with specialization in adult education, human resources, organizational development, or relevant experience
