Senior Manager, Medical Education & Societies, ASEAN based in Singapore

The senior manager uses high-level understanding of the industry, clinical practice, and relevant experience to drive medical education in ASEAN countries.
This role will be reporting to Director, Medical Education, Emerging Markets.
This role leads the planning and implementation of all Medical Education events/activities and guide path for safe and effective adoption of S&N products and technology.
The individual in will work closely with the franchise marketing teams across to assess the learning needs of HCP’s and then to develop learning pathways and implement suitable Medical Education programmes aimed at addressing these needs and aligned with strategy.
Most importantly, one of the key responsibilities will be to measure the performance of these programmes with respect to their relevance, impact and effectiveness in product adoption.
The significance of this role is that it will ensure that there is an alignment in the planning and execution of the Medical Education plans & events between marketing and Medical Education at cluster level.
What will you be doing?

Medical Education Strategy, Planning & Key Projects:

  • Collaborate with cluster leadership team, marketing teams, regional MedEd team to develop annual ASEAN medical education strategy addressing the customer learning needs in-line with key market assessment, SN vision, objectives, and commercial strategy.
  • Collaborate with medical education team members to develop strategic framework for successful execution of MedEd strategy across ASEAN countries & export markets.
  • Represent ASEAN cluster in regional/global medical education update meetings.
  • Collaborate with global & regional medical education teams to share & learn standard methodologies thereafter Implement best practices with focus on crafting outstanding customer experience.
  • Partner with key collaborators from professional affairs, compliance and regional medical education to implement fellowship & educational grants strategy.
  • Leverage SN Academy and local partner facilities for medical education, training & key projects for ASEAN & export countries.

Provide leadership, support and direction for direct reports :

  • Provides mentorship and coaching to assist in continuous professional development.
  • Own the team to successfully execute the strategy and programs in-line with annual objectives.
  • Monitor team performance & management in line with objectives & critical metrics set during annual reviews. Lead succession planning, skill development, capacity building & accountability.
  • Perform Monthly/Quarterly Review on developmental goals and objectives.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employee(s); planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees. addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Represent ACES – Medical education fastrack program of APAC.

Delivery of Regional Medical Education & Implementation of Strategy:

  • Arrange regular product & procedure training for the team through collaboration with cluster & regional marketing keeping the team updated with SN products and technologies.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal & external partners to develop scientific agenda, blended curriculum, clinical data & literature relevant for ASEAN supporting medical education & Commercial strategy in the cluster across all.
  • Finds opportunities for innovative education and services to deliver outstanding experience to customers, patients, and the industry at large.
  • Lead and manage existing relationships and develop new KOLs through pivotal initiatives, engagement & key projects across ASEAN.
  • Align global learning pathways to ASEAN in-alignment with customer needs and market assessment across the cluster. Educational pathways then embedded in ASEAN annual strategy and mapped through education unlimited customer dashboard.
  • Driven mapping & benchmarking across ASEAN to constantly improve overall quality, delivery, and impact of SN Medical Education initiatives. Consistently drives differentiation of Smith & Nephew programs and services from competitors
  • Develop annual ASEAN course calendar along with MedEd team members with thorougneeds assessment and in-line with commercial strategic objectives
  • Lead annual ASEAN MedEd budgeting exercise with key internal partners and develop a budget forecast for each quarter for all franchises followed up with regular monthly budget mapping and updates.
  • Collate & submit key data for global MedEd dashboard. Generate key insights for ASEAN region along with recommendations in medical education.
  • Tracking of the spend for all the local activities for each franchise and crafting regular reports to be shared with all key partners within the cluster. Ensure all actions associated with HCP training and education programs are delivered in accordance with the relevant Smith & Nephew compliance policies, GPPs and local codes of conduct.

Digital Education & Transformation:

  • Implement & expand 360-degree education ecosystem in the ASEAN countries addressing the learning needs in alignment with regional medical education strategy for all franchises.
  • Lead all aspects of successful execution and expansion throughout ASEAN of advance technologies and digital platforms like Education Unlimited/ SNAO, AR, VR, Simulations, Remote Proctoring, ENGAGE application, CVENT, AI.
  • Develop strategy to implement digital learning & platforms across ASEAN and on-board new HCPs on the digital platform.

What will you need to be successful?

Success in the role will require a combination of technical knowledge, soft skills, and a deep understanding of both the business and service-providing sides of an organization. Successful candidates would need the following:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Medicine, Nursing or Allied Health, Master’s in business or Healthcare Management
  • Working understanding of medical education and training processes.
  • Must have 7-10 years of experience in the field of healthcare or medical device, with a strong bias on strategy development and medical education.
