ABOUT US:

Ministerial Services, Policy Reform and Programs (MSPRP) will comprise several business units, including: Ministerial Services and Coordination, Policy Reform and Programs and Redress Design. . These business units are responsible for providing critical departmental and Ministerial coordination support and delivering essential family violence programs and crime prevention grants. MSPRP is also responsible for delivery of priority justice policy reforms in line with departmental and Ministerial priorities. It also leads on crime prevention, family violence and the public intoxication reforms. MSPRP teams work in a dynamic environment, requiring agile policy teams to respond to key priorities as they arise.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager will be responsible for leading teams to deliver services that support the ministers’ responsibilities in relation to Parliament, Cabinet, Executive Council, as well as the Department Liaison Officer team. Ministerial Services also manages processes and undertakes projects in relation to statutory appointments and entitlements. This role is also required to consistently review current systems and processes as part of continuous improvement, in providing an efficient and effective ministerial service.
This role requires sound judgement, responsiveness, excellent stakeholder management skills, strategy and project capability, discretion and the ability to perform under pressure. Additionally, the Senior Manager will be required to work closely with the Director, Ministerial Services and Coordination and will be responsible for day-to-day management of and support to the teams, including fostering a dynamic and productive workforce culture.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Leading a high functioning and agile team to deliver the ministerial services functions for the Department, including delivery of the cabinet and parliament briefing and co-ordination comment process.
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of ministerial services and coordination functions that support the Department and Justice Ministers and oversee the effective operation of Department Liaison Officers.
  • Developing and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of key ministerial priorities.
