Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Manager, Operations is directly responsible for day-to-day management of agency portfolios for Triple Zero Victoria (000VIC). Initially, this role will support the Victoria State Emergency Services (SES) portfolio.
The goal of the function is to enhance the emergency communications sector, driving a culture of collaboration with the relevant emergency service agency to optimise service delivery and community safety.
You will support the provision of emergency communication services, operational communications, and operational delivery state-wide. This includes enhancing strategic partnerships with emergency service organisations to ensure that effective operating models are in place cater to community and stakeholder needs, presently and in the future.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with 000VIC’s agency partners, to support an efficient, effective and community focused emergency service response. This includes leading 000VIC’s agency response to meet service delivery priorities, demand requirements and surge events.
  • Lead and participate in inter-agency forums across the sector specific to a nominated emergency service portfolio.
  • Support and enable 000VIC’s strategic reform and legislative obligations through proactive, responsive, and collaborative engagement with senior leaders across agencies.
  • Collaborate with service design and delivery partners to ensure call taking, dispatch and operational communication systems support effective service delivery.
  • Monitoring implementation of initiatives, working with stakeholders to champion continuous improvement in their agency stream.

The preferred candidate will hold extensive experience in senior-level Operational Management roles within the Emergency Communication and/or Emergency Management sectors, coupled with the following skills and attributes:

  • Extensive experience within a frontline emergency response environment, incorporating operational leadership, strategic planning, resource optimization, workforce management and reporting.
  • Proven leadership ability in both operational communications and emergency management, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, mission-critical service delivery context.
  • Skills in process design, project management, change management, business process improvement, business analysis, requirements gathering, and data analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of emergency services, emergency management, telecommunications, employee relations, and relevant Government Policy.
  • Proven ability to provide authoritative strategic and operational advice at a senior level, with strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
