Responsibilities:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

A Senior Manager is a critical leadership role in the Consulting structure with an expectation to support and drive service / business area strategic plans, management of complex project engagements, capability development and strengthening, client account development and business development through the effective management of self and team/s. The Senior Manager is a key custodian of our purpose and values, often leading our client engagements and business development efforts. The role will also contribute towards execution of the business strategy by taking personal accountability for keeping short-term financial and operational performance on track, while in parallel contributing towards building the future business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates capability to advise clients in Payments Modernisation and associated competency areas such as payments strategy, market entry considerations, design requirements, operations and operating model.
  • Have a high-level understanding of modern payment technologies (next-gen / 4th-gen)
  • Understand the South African payments landscape, key role players and regulatory environment
  • Guides clients through decision-making around critical strategy and organisational choices
  • Defines the actions needed and provides direction at the corporate, divisional, and functional levels to accomplish a client’s long-term objectives
  • Anticipates challenges to strategy implementation and proactively develops plans to mitigate risks
  • Helps clients evaluate the success of the strategy based on establishing and monitoring qualitative and quantitative metrics
  • Uses insight-based approaches to help clients clarify priorities and develop a go-forward strategy to drive value into the business
  • Leverages industry trends to advise clients on how to create sustainable sources of advantage and differentiate their value proposition for future business growth, positioning them for long-term competitiveness
  • Brings deep insights across clients and sectors to drive a client’s strategic choices around where to play, how to win, and how to configure the business to establish sustainable advantage and market position
  • Maintains expertise with end-to-end processes and leads clients through the decision-making process by considering cross-functional interdependencies
  • Leverages product, equipment and process expertise to drive value through execution approaches that consider short versus long-term value trade-offs, knowledge transfer, culture change, and capability-building
  • Demonstrates an industry focus within Financial Services
