JOB SUMMARY

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in driving Sandoz Supplier Diversity program, working in close collaboration with Global Culture & Inclusion and Procurement teams, Sandoz ESG team and relevant stakeholders to identify and engage diverse suppliers, and to ensure that the company’s supplier base reflects the diversity of the communities & patients it serves.
At Sandoz, our ESG efforts touch all aspects of the business, and we are particularly focused on 1. Supplier Eco-system & diversity, 2.Supplier Decarbonization, 3.Packaging & product design, 4.Waste & Water management as well as fostering a sustainable supply chain globally. As the Senior Manager for Supplier Diversity you will be accountable for further developing and implementing a comprehensive supplier diversity program that supports Sandoz’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities:

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Policy and Strategy Development
  • Further developing the Supplier Diversity Policy: Articulate our commitment to diversity in our supply chain, outlining objectives, strategies, and specific targets.
  • Incorporate supplier diversity into Procurement Strategies: Ensure that supplier diversity is a part of the overall Procurement strategy and is integrated into Procurement processes and decision-making.
  • Provide guidance and support to Procurement teams and relevant stakeholders on supplier diversity best practices and strategies
  • Supplier Identification and Outreach
  • Identify Diverse Suppliers: Work in collaboration with Procurement teams leverage databases and directories provided by various diversity certification organizations (i.e the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), etc.) to identify and engage diverse suppliers across all categories, including but not limited to minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, and LGBTQ-owned businesses.
  • Outreach Programs: Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, including supplier diversity organizations, advocacy groups, and community organizations. Participate in or host supplier diversity fairs, trade shows, and other events that facilitate direct engagement with diverse suppliers.
  • Certification and Verification
  • Support Certification: Encourage our suppliers to get certified through recognized diversity councils and organizations. This helps in authenticating their status as diverse suppliers.
  • Verify Certifications: Regularly verify the certifications of our diverse suppliers to ensure compliance and legitimacy.
  • Collaborate with Sandoz relevant business stakeholders to ensure that supplier diversity initiatives are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Capacity Building and Development
  • Supplier Development Programs: Create programs to help diverse suppliers grow their capabilities, such as mentoring, training, and providing access to finance.
  • Collaboration: Work with diverse suppliers on joint development projects to build their capacity and enhance their competitiveness.
  • Integration into Procurement Processes
  • Set Clear Targets: Establish clear, measurable targets for spending with diverse suppliers and incorporate these into our Procurement planning and performance metrics.
  • Modify Procurement Processes: Adjust our Procurement processes to be more inclusive, such as reducing barriers for small suppliers, simplifying the bidding process, and ensuring that RFPs are accessible to a diverse supplier base.
  • Monitoring, Reporting, and Improvement
  • Track Spend with Diverse Suppliers: Regularly monitor and report on our spend with diverse suppliers to assess progress towards targets.
  • Work with relevant Sandoz business stakeholders to monitor and report on supplier diversity metrics – including public reporting
  • Feedback and Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to diverse suppliers on their performance and work with them to address any issues. Continuously look for ways to improve our supplier diversity program.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Internal Engagement: Educate and engage with internal stakeholders (such as Procurement staff and decision-makers) to ensure buy-in and compliance with the supplier diversity objectives. Provide regular updates to senior leadership.
  • External Collaboration: Collaborate with industry groups, non-profits, and other organizations to promote supplier diversity within our industry and beyond.
  • Leveraging Technology
  • Supplier Diversity Portals: Assess best technology set up that can help in managing diverse supplier information, certification status, and performance metrics.

IDEAL BACKGROUND FOR THE ROLE

  • +5 years of experience ideally in developing & driving Supplier diversity programs in a Corporate Environment or as a consultant/auditor for corporate organizations on Supplier Diversity
  • Evidenced ability to develop and implement supplier diversity programs that drive results
  • Strong knowledge of supplier diversity best practices and strategies
  • Experience in Procurement and specifically in Category management role is a plus
  • Experience in managing large program in a corporate environment, including change management and executive communication
  • Evidenced ability lead, manage and execute against critical objectives in fast paced environment
  • Solid understanding of Procurement processes/policies/tools and Procurement best practices is a plus
  • Evidenced ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders in a corporate environment
  • Experience developing presentations and business case for executive audience
  • Project management experience with ability to run multiple projects.
  • Strong motivation for coaching, mentoring and training others
  • Highly organized, able to network across a large enterprise, and a flexible team player
  • Supplier Diversity Compliance & Certifications is a plus
  • Fluent English
