Responsibilities:
A ROLE YOU WILL LOVE
The Senior Manager within the RMI team will drive the analysis and interpretation of major market and regulatory developments to assess impact on our clients and Computershare’s business structure, operations, and strategy. If successful, you will be involved in extensive engagement with internal and external parties, e.g., participation in working groups, stakeholder discussions, liaison with regulators and government representatives to discuss developments, and promote Computershare’s position and preferred outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with our business groups globally to identify and analyse proposed/ ongoing discussions, working groups, consultations which are related to regulatory and market developments across Computershare’s markets.
- Identify areas of interest to Computershare and our clients, in terms of strategic impact of legal/regulatory change implications of proposals and understanding the business operational impact of proposals.
- Utilise global knowledge and experience of international markets, operating models, regulatory policy infrastructure and constituent players to provide advice/support to executive management in the ongoing development of Computershare strategy.
- Compare and contrast related global practice to inform options for response.
- Provide input and guidance to the development of response strategies and/or proactive approaches as appropriate.
- Contribute to strategic communications to influence outcomes, including drafting submissions, white papers and client briefings
- Ensure relevant business personnel are adequately informed through regular communications and interactive discussions.
- Collaborate with business partners in all Computershare markets to provide strategic direction and architect solutions, providing input as necessary during analysis/development phase of deliverables, ultimately ensuring an orderly knowledge handover as developments progress to implementation.
WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO THE ROLE?
- Expert understanding of the market ecosystem and the roles of key stakeholders, such as exchanges, CSDs, banks/brokers, proxy service providers, transfer agents/registrars.
- Expert understanding of at least one core market where Computershare operates, including market infrastructure, and an understanding of issuer/shareholder interactions and communications.
- Knowledge of core concepts of securities ownership (including registered and beneficial owners) and securities registration/administration.
- Strong background in post-trade industry segment (clearing, settlement, registration).
- Understanding of international shareholding models and associated functions.
