Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager in Software Development in Test (SDET) to lead our testing operations team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of quality operations, automation and have a proven track record in leading test automation teams to deliver robust, high-quality software applications. The ideal candidate will be skilled in modern test and DevOps technologies and methodologies, particularly in automating testing in a CI/CD environment.
Location: For this position, we are considering candidates who are happy to work from our Galway office on a hybrid basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of SDETs, fostering a culture of quality and innovation.
  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies to ensure the highest quality of software delivery.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Test Automation: Oversee the development and maintenance of an efficient automated testing infrastructure to support rapid deployment cycles.
  • Quality and Stability Metrics and Reporting: Establish and monitor key quality and stability metrics to assess effectiveness and drive improvements in software quality and development practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development and testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, TestComplete, Jenkins).
  • Proficient in programming languages relevant to test automation, such as Python, Java, or TypeScript.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with performance and/or security testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
