KEY ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A skilled, technical claims handler with a deep knowledge of their chosen discipline, coupled with strong commercial acumen.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and designing differentiated claims strategies for implementation across the region;
  • Monitoring marine claims activity across the region, ensuring a strong reserving discipline, and that a proactive customer service standard is maintained;
  • Representing BHSI in its interactions with customers, promoting the BHSI claims proposition and philosophy and our focus on building and maintaining long term relationships with our customers;
  • Continuing to build and maintain partnerships with adjusters, lawyers and other service providers and experts across the region;
  • Maintaining, and continuing to develop, the reputation of BHSI as a provider of technical, proactive, innovative, thoughtful and customized solutions for its customers;
  • Ensuring that all regulatory and compliance matters (external and internal) pertaining to the handling and management of marine claims across the region are adhered to;
  • Single point of contact for all internal stakeholders in the region pertaining to marine business. Presenting on claim developments, statistics and trends to members of both the regional and global management team;
  • Collaborating closely with the underwriting team to foster business development, products and wordings;
  • Promoting, building and maintaining the value driven framework that underpins all BHSI’s operations across the globe.
