We are looking for a dedicated and hard-working Senior Water Quality Specialist to join our dynamic team! THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in marine science, oceanography, earth and ocean science, or other related discipline.
  • R.P. Bio., or relevant professional designation, or eligible.
  • 5+ years of technical experience, consulting experience is an asset.
  • Experience analyzing and evaluating water quality data in the context of environmental effects.
  • Experience developing or interpreting water quality models.
  • Experience with water quality monitoring equipment (e.g., temperature or turbidity loggers) an asset.
  • Excellent technical writing and analytical skills, and ability to produce high quality reports and proposals.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, excellence, and professional ethics.
  • Familiarity with R programming language an asset.

Responsibilities:

Your role will require you to bring a high standard of scientific excellence to your daily work. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with supportive multi-disciplinary teams to complete biological effects assessments in marine and freshwater environments.
  • Design and lead water quality sampling programs for small-scale to large-scale marine and freshwater projects before and after project operation.
  • Work with complex datasets to develop water quality models, analyze spatial and temporal trends, detect guideline exceedances, and ensure data quality control and quality assurance.
  • Participate in or lead proposal writing, technical report writing, client meetings, and regulatory meetings.
