Description:

The Senior Market Advisor’s mandate is to partner with Singapore companies on their internationalization journey, whether it’s helping them take the first step overseas, advising on the latest developments and sectoral opportunities in the overseas markets, facilitating their businesses to enlarge their global footprint, aiding in strengthening their foothold in foreign markets. Together with a team led by the Director, the Senior Market Advisor designs and executes activities and events for companies to learn about trade and investment opportunities, land with in-market partners, and localize for long-term sustainability and success. He/She will be given a portfolio of geographic markets to oversee and is expected to quickly pick up a good knowledge of the market/region assigned or already have prior experience in the assigned market/region. The Senior Market Advisor is also expected to step up on managerial activities when assigned these duties and is to be an example of excellence for junior members of the team to emulate. Additionally, he/she is also expected to undertake secretarial duties and participate in organization-wide and/or department projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimally tertiary education,
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English,
  • Understanding of PMI project management standards is an advantage,
  • Applicable 3rd language is an advantage,
  • Excellent time management and communication skills,
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently,
  • Self-motivated, independent, and a good team player,
  • Must be able to work in a team environment or even lead a team if the need arises,
  • MS Office proficiency is a must, while experience with project management applications is a plus,
  • Ability to research and understand situational factors impacting internationalizing businesses such as political issues, social developments, and environmental concerns,
  • Inquisitive, open to new ideas, a self-starter who is adaptable to new situations and able to multitask,
  • Respectful of cultural, political, and socio-economic differences and diversity, and can lead communications and collaborations effectively with internal and external stakeholders,
  • Basic understanding of business processes and organizational disciplines,
  • Overseas posting and/or experience is an advantage,
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience with exposure to business development, marketing, sales, events management, business advisory, and consulting.
