We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Marketing Data Analst to join our Global Digital Marketing Enablement Team, reporting to the Digital Analytics Enablement Senior Manager . This is a permanent role and can be based in Edinburgh or London.
About the Department
The Global Brand and Marketing function is responsible for delivering ground breaking marketing technology and marketing capabilities that support the marketing teams across abrdn’s business divisions and corporate and colleague audiences. The team is responsible for understanding business needs, defining requirements, and supporting the effectiveness of our marketing and brand activity through real time insights into client behaviours and trends.
About the Role
The Senior Marketing Data Analyst is instrumental in the creation of data capabilities to drive strategic decision making and insights across the Group. The role will provide specialist analytical expertise and technical skillset to develop the marketing intelligence framework to ensure that client and market insights inform brand, marketing, client planning and measurement across all abrdn business vectors. This pivotal role will be integral in delivering reporting and insights to support business decisions with focus on client analysis, analytics capabilities, and marketing effectiveness.

You will be able to own the implementation of a wide range of reporting solutions to enhance quality and efficiency of key business insights:

  • Deliver in-depth actionable client insight for marketing and vector leadership teams.
  • Lead the development of advanced analytics capabilities, focusing on client marketing, inbound and outbound marketing activities.
  • Build and maintain dashboards for efficient decision making. Develop advanced data reporting to assist business stakeholders and collaborators.
  • Develop marketing data product capabilities through data lake, CRM, analytics, and CDP.
  • Enhance accuracy in channel performance analysis, focusing on client attribution, cost and lifecycle value.
  • Own and manage the setup of business intelligence self-service framework through data warehouse.

About the Candidate Requirements

  • A wealth of hands on technical experience in marketing or similar analytics role.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Big Query, Funnel, Google Display.
  • Self-service business intelligence: Proficient in data visualisation, dashboard creation and analytical reporting through platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau or similar tools.
  • Experience with data modelling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or Data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modelling.
  • KPI/metric design: Strong ability to identify opportunities and practical actions for stakeholders through data analysis.
  • Extensive experience working with secondary data points such as CRM, UX, Ops, Social listing, Marketing Automation etc. to add depth to client and market insight and provide combined VoC narrative to business
  • Ability to creatively problem solve.
  • An open and genuine collaborator
