TECHNICAL AND INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:
- Senior level engineering on Material Handling equipment on Mining, Minerals & Metals projects preferred
- Proven experience in mine operations/engineering or mine project development including selection of handling systems and equipment
- Experience with conveyor and feeder design, stockpile systems, and industry best practices
- Experience with bulk bagging and packaging equipment is an asset
- Registered or eligible for registration with EGBC
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
- Experience with Computer Aided Design software and Microsoft Office is preferred
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE:
The Senior Material Handling Engineer is a full-time position based in Vancouver, BC.
The responsibilities of the role cover all aspects of projects from conceptual and feasibility studies through to FEED stages for multiple clients concurrently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Input into mine site layout and design, working with the process and client teams to develop and implement an efficient and safe layouts for bulk handling systems, storage systems and truck or rail loading systems.
- Input into refinery facility layout and design, working with the process and client teams to develop and implement efficient production facilities for refinery locations including material reception and storage, additives reception, handling and storage and finished product load out and distribution.
- Facility Inspection and Process Improvement.
- Preparation of technical specifications and reports for bulk handling and logistics systems related to mine site development and operation.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of budget costs, estimates and documentation.
- Technology Implementation: Stay up-to-date with current mining techniques and principles including autonomous equipment and operations and other relevant technologies and identify opportunities to implement automation and digitalization to streamline operations for our clients.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all projects.
- Develop work plans, budgets, estimates and manpower forecasts.
- Track and report work progress.
- Mentor junior engineers and prepare training plans.
- Be available for short term assignments worldwide.
- Establish and grow internal and external client relations
