Role Overview:
They are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead their Building Services team. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and development of mechanical systems for large commercial and industrial buildings, including new constructions and refurbishments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the mechanical design process for building services projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Develop innovative design solutions to meet project requirements and objectives.
  • Review and approve technical specifications, drawings, and schedules prepared by the team.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor project progress and ensure quality and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Significant experience in mechanical design engineering within the building services sector, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartered status is desirable.
  • Expertise in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HVAC design tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of building regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE).
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset and ability to drive projects forward, from concept design through to completion.
