Are you ready to take your career to the next level Our client, a leading energy systems provider, is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team.
About: They offer a full spectrum of integrated products and services including systems integration, new product development, engineering, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, life cycle support, field services, integrated documentation, and training. Their manufacturing facility in Prince Edward Island, Canada includes a state-of-the-art mechanical fabrication shop, an electrical assembly area, and a medium voltage test bay.
As a part of the mechanical engineering team, the successful candidate will participate in preparation of mechanical engineering design, development of mechanical systems and structures, in-depth analysis of new and existing hardware, implementation and documentation for mechanical section of company projects, coordination work efforts with other disciplines as well as clients. The successful candidate will participate in ensuring projects are well defined and administered in.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Engineering or a related field, or a combination of education and experience suitable to the position.
  • License to practice engineering issued by a provincial or territorial engineering regulatory body (P.Eng status)
  • Extensive field experience in industrial automation and control systems, or systems engineering.
  • Experience in the design, development and implementation of electrical power systems and/or control and automation systems.
  • Project management experience is an asset.

  • Ability to analyze complex systems engineering problems and devise innovative engineering solutions. • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and across multiple project teams.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse workload while prioritizing time and resources to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and customer relation skills.
  • Confident knowledge and experience in 3D and 2D modeling software (preferably Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD)

Responsibilities:

  • Interfacing with customers to determine project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support for company products to colleagues and customers
  • Producing well defined calculations, drawings and specifications for systems to be delivered.
  • Developing functional descriptions.
  • Producing engineering documentation, such as schematics and functional flow diagrams.
  • Using mechanical engineering principles to ensure systems are appropriately engineered.
  • Using mechanical engineering software and other tools to ensure designs are robust and safe.
  • Selection and design of parts and components for robust and effective systems functionality.
  • Developing supporting documentation, including system descriptions, test procedures, maintenance, and trouble-shooting manuals.
  • Supporting onsite activities such as commissioning and trouble shooting.
  • Travel to customer sites when necessary to provide onsite support and training.
  • Supervision for mechanical engineers-in-training work in accordance with legal and ethical engineering codes, as well as public safety where it needed.

  • Taking responsibility for professional development, including pursuit and maintenance of professional designation and licenses.
