On behalf of Chevron, one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies, we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical & Piping Engineer to join their team supporting Chevron’s Gorgon Carbon Capture and Storage project in Perth.
The Senior Mechanical & Piping Engineer will play a crucial role in the CO2 Long Term Optimization Project (LTOP), collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop technical solutions and deliverables. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Chevron’s lower carbon strategy while working in a dynamic and professional project environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assign and monitor the progress of discipline resources to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Develop technical solutions and collaborate with an integrated team, including the Engineering contractor.
  • Generate and approve a variety of discipline deliverables such as plot plans, equipment layout, isometrics, PDMS/E3D models, bills of material, valve data sheets, piping specifications, and material specifications.
  • Perform design calculations including pipe wall thickness, underground design, and pipe stress analysis using Caesar II.
  • Conduct functional reviews of management of change (MOC) processes and perform FIV/AVI calculations following Energy Institute guidelines.
  • Provide technical expertise on discipline design principles and guidelines.
  • Manage interfaces with other functions and provide input to ‘Request for Proposal’ and ‘Request for Quotation’.
  • Apply Chevron project management systems, facility design and construction (FD&C) practices, MOC procedures, and capital stewardship principles.
  • Manage and control change by effectively communicating with diverse, cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support construction and fabrication scopes with engineering input and resolve technical queries.
  • Commit to health, environment, safety, and Chevron’s best practices.
