The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Design/Build organization is seeking a Senior Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to join our team in Oklahoma City, OK. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting Instrumentation Design efforts on commercial derivative and military aircraft programs including Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) and B52.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry
  • 3+ years of design or analysis experience on large fixed winged aircraft

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience using CATIA
  • Familiarity with wiring diagrams and/or functional schematics

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead flight test instrumentation design & build integration conversations with program IPT, customers and factory teams
  • Lead development of process and tool solutions thru collaboration with Boeing Test & Evaluation and program partners
  • Represent Design/Build team in various flight test internal as well as program and customer meetings
  • Assist with developing estimates, risks and opportunities
  • Develop and assist with management of work statement and drawing lists for the entire program
  • Assist with development of drawing release schedule
  • Develop full kit requirements for design assignments
  • Provide lead review support and approvals of instrumentation designs
  • Mentor and provide technical oversight to engineering teams
  • Provide liaison engineering support during fabrication, assembly, build, test execution and refurbishment phases of flight test program
