POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Medical Advisor DACH provides strategic alignment with International and Country Medical Affairs (MA) plans. He/she supports the full scope of medical affairs activities in DACH: strategic planning, data generation, data dissemination, medical knowledge and insight management as well as activities for or around the medical community.
He/she ensures medical guidance and cross-functional collaboration (sales, marketing, market access), e.g. medical/scientific training as well as launch planning and execution.
He/she maintains personal and medical team expertise in Ophthalmology and MA best practices.
EDUCATION, REGISTRATION & CERTIFICATION:
- MD, Specialist in ophthalmology, experience in retinology preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Clinical and practical experience as ophthalmologist
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- Strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Knowledge of relevant systems
- Demonstrated skills in project management
- Demonstrated complex problem-solving ability and sound judgement ability
- Strong leadership, team building, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Highly organized, results driven, problem solver
- Superior written and oral communication skills and the ability to work across different levels of management
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Expected travel to the Company’s headquarters on a quarterly or bi-yearly basis; or as needed for business purposes.
- Additional travel may be required
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Collaborates with Director Medical Affairs DACH to provide country input into Medical Brand Plans.
- Cooperates cross-functionally, within established structures.
- Facilitates knowledge exchange (i.e. at internal meetings, Journal Clubs, virtual meetings).
- Contributes to medical training of field-based commercial personnel as assigned.
- Collaborates appropriately with KOLs and Investigators to identify areas of shared scientific interest and advances partnerships per guidance of the Director Medical Affairs DACH and research areas of focus.
- Active utilisation of knowledge about current medical standards and guidelines
- Provides scientific support in development of publications.
- Attends and reports on relevant regional, national and international scientific meetings as assigned.
