Description:

    If you are a experienced Medical Negligence or Health lawyer and are looking to move into a pre-eminent practice then this is a role you will need to consider.

In this role you will be involved in:

  • Attending formal mediations and informal settlement conferences
  • Managing Coronial inquiries and disciplinary proceedings as against health entities and individual practitioners
  • Providing advice to insurers on cover, predominantly professional indemnity and medical indemnity insurance
  • Reviewing medical and health records
  • Preparing briefs for Counsel and expert witnesses
  • Drafting court documents, settlement deeds and Medical Panel referrals
  • Preparing advices including on indemnity, liability, prospects, quantum, reserves and strategy
  • Researching and providing legal analysis
  • Assisting with the preparation and presenting on matters related to medical indemnity and health law litigation

To be considered for this role you will have at least 4 years PQE across the Medical Negligence or Health Law space either on the defendant or plaintiff side. You will have sound drafting and negotiation skills. Excellent attention to detail and be a genuine team player.
