Why make the change?
Palm Island is a dynamic and growing community and on this island, you are likely to commute to work on foot. There is little traffic, and the rainforest grows on the town’s fringes, the beach is close by and the fishing is great.
Palm Island has its own schools, community pharmacy, general store, service station, butcher, post office, and youth centre. Locals take regular trips to the mainland, to take advantage of shopping and entertainment opportunities in nearby Townsville.
