The position’s primary focus will be on creating internal and external strategic communications —with an emphasis on medical/science writing — that enhance Kessler Foundation’s visibility and reputation to targeted audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of five years of experience in medical communications.
- Exceptional writing skills; strong verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to follow through on issues in a timely manner and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field.
- Medical/pharmaceutical experience.
Responsibilities:
- Creating, producing, and/or proofreading content for print, web, and other platforms that aligns with the research and employment missions, promotes the Foundation’s activities (such as grants, scientists’ achievements, recruitment, publications, conferences, grant-making initiatives), and establishes Foundation staff as thought leaders.
- Writing and editing medical and/or science writing deliverables covering all phases of research and studies for press releases and publications.
- Using scientific knowledge and writing skills to communicate medical/science information in a form suitable for the target audience, which may include patients, lay people, rehabilitation professionals, and medical doctors, among others.
- Performing a broad range of functions — including researching, writing, editing, copyediting, proofreading, interviewing, and reporting — for the development of media materials (print, digital, video, audio).
- Coordinating multi-level public relations campaigns; supervising dissemination of scientific and media content.
- Planning, developing, and managing special projects (such as podcast series, and corporate and tribute videos, presentations, manuals).
- Responding to media requests for research information and interviews.
