OLG is now expanding our horizons even further, with a new strategic direction, to become a world class gaming entertainment leader with a globally admired digital platform.
We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Senior Metadata Analyst to enable OLG to understand the value of its data and increase its worth through standardization of business glossary and data lineage resulting in enhanced confidence in decision making. Additionally, support OLG obligation to meet regulatory and legislative requirements for management of data.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Analytics Enablement, you will be empowered to:

  • Manage and enhance a Metadata Repository capable of providing value to various levels of stakeholders where incremental iterations are required.
  • Support the enhancement of OLGs Metadata Strategy that aligns with organizational requirements to support strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Evaluate the nature and types of metadata that will provide the greatest value within a complex and evolving environment.
  • Balance the needs of Technical Resources (Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Developers) and Business Resources (Business Analysts, Data Owners and Stewards, Legal, Regulatory and Privacy) to ensure both groups are satisfied.
  • Facilitate meetings with Data Owners and Domain Stewards to define required metadata attributes and identify Critical Data Elements including their relationships with each other to ensure common understanding and protection of OLG data and its value across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate in defining shared accountabilities and implementation of polices and processes among Information Management specialties (ISO, DBA, ETL, BI, etc.).
  • Collaborate to review information policies relating to compliance requirements (Legal, Regulatory, Privacy, EDRM, etc.)
  • Define scope and alignment with other Governance Functions internal and external to OLG.
  • Develop metrics and track results to measure the effectiveness of the Metadata Management program.
  • Provide training and education in respect to Information Governance programs (Metadata, Data Quality and Governance) including related policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the establishment of a communications plan and authoritative hierarchy that enables Information Governance capabilities.
