JOB DESCRIPTION

Elavon (Elavon is a part of the U.S. Bank family) is seeking the full-time position of Senior Middleware Specialist. Telecommuting available from anywhere in US. HQ at 800 Nicollet Mall Minneapolis, MN 55402.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Must also have 60 months of experience with each of the following: (1) designing, implementing, and supporting Middleware Applications in multi-tiered non-production and production environments; (2) configuring and implementing configuration management to reduce application deployment time; (3) use the following technologies: software development life cycle (SDLC); Agile/Scrum or similar; UNIX and Shell Scripting; Version Control System: GIT, GitHub, or Bitbucket; Project Management: Rally, JIRA or similar; Configuration Management: Puppet, salt stack, Maven or Ansible; (4) monitoring and automated log maintenance of application servers using AppD, Splunk, Logstash or similar tools. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Telecommuting available from anywhere in US. HQ at 800 Nicollet Mall Minneapolis, MN 55402.
Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $135,200 - $150,500

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for contributing toward the success of our technology initiatives; implementing, integrating, and providing support for middleware software in multi-tiered, multi-platform environment; software development, architect middleware solutions, and providing technical leadership; completing functional design and architecture of middleware software solutions; ensuring unified direction in place for group by communicating with appropriate architecture groups; determining appropriate middleware for environment based on organization’s architectural needs; investigating new developments and making recommendations on additions or replacements; providing mentoring to users of the middleware products both through direct interaction and through the hosting of user groups; installing and monitoring software that is between the applications and the operating system; performing and leading design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solution; planning and providing back-end connectivity infrastructure components required for the application; overseeing middleware implementation projects; and working with internal infrastructure teams and vendors to provide recommendations for hardware and system software upgrades. Use the following technologies to perform the duties of the position: software development life cycle (SDLC); Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Lean and Continuous integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices; UNIX and Shell Scripting; Version Control System: GIT, GitHub, and Bitbucket; Oracle; Rally, JIRA; and Maven and Ansible.
