We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Mine Geologist for our Woodie Mine Site, situated 407kms south - east of Port Hedland in the Pilbara on a 7:7 roster from Perth.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will lead our dynamic team with expertise and dedication. Key responsibilities include:

  • Safety First: Ensure a safe work environment through supervision, training, risk management, and proactive safety measures.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective relationships with contractors, partners, and departments.
  • Environmental Responsibility: Ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Housekeeping Standards: Maintain high standards of housekeeping and personal presentation.
  • Geological Input: Provide geological input into mine planning and production.
  • Accuracy in Data: Supervise ore mark-up locations, ensuring information accuracy and integrity.
  • Team Supervision: Lead and supervise the mine geology team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Data Management: Manage pit geology and grade control datasets efficiently.
  • Model Reconciliation: Ensure timely and accurate model reconciliations and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Quality Assurance: Liaise with the onsite laboratory for assay prioritization and monitor QA/QC protocols.
  • Drilling Plans: Schedule and implement drilling plans for geotechnical and water bore programs.
  • Project Engagement: Engage in project work and report progress aligned with project scope.
  • Performance Management: Establish performance expectations, monitor team performance, and manage accordingly.
  • Training and Development: Ensure team members have adequate training and development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

THE REQUIREMENTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE ARE:

Bachelor of Science –Geology (or related discipline)
Current and valid C Class Driver’s license
Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a Mine Geologist role (open pit mining)
Proficiency in mining software (eg. Surpac, Logchief)
Familiarity with Pronto or equivalent software and MS suite
