We have a fantastic career opportunity for a Senior Mining Engineer to really hone their skills.
We are currently seeking a Senior Mining Engineer - to join our Wilpinjong mine. Our Wilpinjong mine is a low strip ratio open-cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of the historic and country charm of the City of Mudgee. Wilpinjong is a multi-seam operation utilising truck / excavator and dozer push methods, producing –10-12mtpa thermal coal for both the export and domestic markets.
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the scope of your role will be to develop the Short to Medium term designs and schedules. You will be required to actively engage with key stakeholders; communicating the schedule and designs to ensure production processes are optimised to continuously improve operational efficiencies. As a senior engineer you will be required to lead and mentor Mining Engineers.
You will be challenged technically in a dynamic operational environment; blasting multiple waste and coal horizons and developing skills to meet environmental conditions in the pursuit of production performances, environmental compliance and your own development. You will be rewarded with a collaborative relationship with production and an environment where fresh ideas and change is embraced.

ABOUT YOU:

This role would suit a degree qualified Mining Engineer who is either experienced or looking for their next stage of their development:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, or comparable degree
• Minimum 5 years of mining experience
• Experience in Open Cut Coal or Metal
• Proficient Experience in mining software (Vulcan, SPRY, Deswik, Gannt Scheduler is highly regarded)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent planning and organising skills, the ability coach / mentor junior engineers and to enlist help or resources when required.
• Drive for continuous personal and professional development is required
• Uncompromising commitment to safety and the environment.
