Senior Mobile Engineer iOS/Android

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

For our Tech team in Romania, we’re looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS/Android) on full-time employment contract (work setup is flexible: remote or hybrid, based on preference) who is excited to influence and develop together with us product features and the technical stability of our iOS or Android applications – ideally both. You enjoy transforming good UX/UI into seamless user interactions, architecting, securing and maintaining complex mobile applications, managing technical debt, testability and delivering compelling features that our users love.
As part of the engineering team you will help bring the smoothest door-to-door travel experience to our users and through our products.

YOUR PROFILE:

As a Senior Mobile Engineer you take ownership, autonomy, and accountability over your area of expertise. We’re looking for someone who’s highly committed to technical quality and has a high drive to achieve business-level goals in a holistic and scalable technical fashion, while openly promoting a knowledge-sharing culture.

We expect you to:

• Be well-versed in Swift or Kotlin – ideally both, with a deep understanding of iOS SDK and Android SDK, respectively, including associated frameworks, techniques and CI/CD tools
• Have at least 3-5 years of experience with mobile application development, including a solid understanding of MVVM and MVP architectures, respectively
• Be comfortable to dive into specifics and sort out complex technical challenges
• Have experience with agile methodologies, and are motivated to pick out the leanest solutions
• Comfortably push for good test coverage – be intimately familiar with unit and UI testing, e.g. testability of ViewModels and Presenters, respectively
• Thrive and make an impact in a dynamic start-up environment, with little hierarchy, where finding the right balance between quality and speed is key
• Have excellent collaboration skills, as you will work with most teams involved in the product business processes
• Drive integration of new technologies, clean coding principles and best practices, while staying highly aligned with the product and company goals
• Be a citizen / long-term resident of Romania

Salary range: 14K-19K(net) RON

Remote work and offices – We operate on a remote work model and have offices in Bucharest and Hamburg. Nonetheless, you’re free to choose if you want to come to the office or work remotely or do a bit of both. We do however value face-to-face interactions from time to time. • You iteratively work on product priorities, while improving the stability, testability and code quality of mobile applications with your technical know-how
• You’re a best practices evangelist – promote best practices and address technical challenges of mobile engineering in a knowledge-sharing environment
• You develop and influence the final look and feel of our products together with our product team, materially helping our users
• Continuously work to bolster mobile application design, implementation and delivery processes in order to improve quality and efficiency
• You’re a technical leader – help shape and advance the technical culture at Voya that will ultimately define every interaction users have with our products and services
• Collaborate on a daily basis with a small team of product managers, engineers, and UI/UX designers to understand business requirements and user goals and pain points
