WELLINGTON

We are looking for a passionate and commercial astute analyst to join our Asset Strategy team and help shape the future of our gas business.
As New Zealand’s largest gas distribution utility, our gas pipeline networks consist of 190 regulator stations, 6000 kilometers of gas pipes connecting 113,000 urban and rural homes and businesses to gas across the Wellington, Hutt Valley, Porirua, Taranaki, Manawatū, and Hawke’s Bay regions.
The energy industry in changing rapidly to support a low emissions energy future, and Powerco plays a critical role in enabling the transition towards a sustainable low carbon renewable energy system. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You will be someone who enjoys building relationships, is customer focused and a great team player. Your ability to work with and through others, both in and outside of the organization, will be critical in this role.
Ideally experience in the energy industry to hit the ground running would be a bonus but not essential. If you have commercial experience within the infrastructure, dairy or financial modelling and analysis sectors then we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

In this dynamic position, you will be working with the gas leadership team to provide crucial network asset performance analysis and reporting to inform our asset strategies and support operations. Your insights will guide our Asset Management Plan (AMP) and other targeted initiatives, focusing on optimising reliability, safety, commercial, and environmental performance. Be a part of our strategic transition to lower carbon emissions and contribute to our mission of delivering value-based investments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide routine network and asset performance reporting.
  • Lead the network KPI business development and improvement process.
  • Provide regulatory reporting requirements by preparing asset management plan schedules, information disclosure and default quality price-path information to meet requirements.
  • Support network investment decisions using NPV and financial modelling tools.
